Career Struggle with Senior IT Professional With recent changes in IT industry many senior professionals in IT industry have either lost their job or finding it even more confusing that whether they should stay or change the job. There is always a hidden fear in their mind about job and career. This problem is even more prominent for people who have been in the same job for many years and have not updated the resume or LinkedIn in the past. They may find it difficult to connect with unknown people over LinkedIn. Also as we all know that tech people are little hesitant in talking to people. And when these senior IT professionals  start looking for the job, they directly approach people or use LinkedIn to apply for the job but that does not work. WTT 10X Career Strategy – Part#1 When they work with us and follow WTT 10X Career Strategy, we teach them that like any great things, it does not start with “Actions”. It start with “Vision, Mission, Industry Insights, Strategy, Goal Setting”. And same is true with their career as well. Hence we teach, how to first define your career vision followed by mission. Then doing a SWOT Analysis (Strength, Weakness, Opportunity, Threat)  aligned with their long term and short term goals this is part 1. Yes just Part-1 🙂 WTT 10X Career Strategy – Part#2 Part 2 is to know deeper industry insights of IT Industry which I got to know while working with IBM, McAfee and insights which help me got offer from Microsoft. So they first learn about WTT 10x Roadmap in IT industry where they got to understand the different orbits of the companies that exist in the IT industry, CTC-XFactor which differentiate them. Then they have a reflection of their career so far and where do they want to position themselves and what are the ways to change their orbit as per their potential and performance WTT 10X Career Strategy – Part#3 Once Part 1 and Part 2 is done then Part-3 is to build a strategy. Here based on our USP, Strengths, Long Term Alignment, we find list of 200 companies. Yes, we do cover how to make a curated list of 200 comanies aligned to your profile and also how you should reach out to companies based on your short term and long term goals. WTT 10X Career Strategy – Part#4 Part 4 is building a personalized development plan. We start tracking our personalized development plan that what all skills are required to grow form where we are right now to where do we want to be. This requires full lot of review starting from mindset to skill set to many other things. Some people have phobia of talking to people during interviews or they have certain uncomfortable question with they find hard tool answer and many more such things. WTT 10X Career Strategy – Part#5 Part-5 is to build a WTT 10X Career Dashboard and tracker having job tracking sheet where we start tracking the professional connects we have the list of companies that are aligned with our unique requirements and how we can connect with people in those companies At any point of time, WTT 10X strategy teach people that it’s not about hunting for the job but connecting with professionals to build a long term relationship has even though the short term goal is to get a job however the purpose of connecting with people is to build a lifelong professional relationship and continue exchange insights and learning from each other WTT 10X Career Strategy – Part#6 After doing Part-1 to Part -5, comes the AI tools and other best practices. And this cycle keep on going.     I am not saying that, old method of reaching out to few people does not work. It works but senior leaders understand the importance of strategy which can help you yield more results even with limited resources. Same way applying the WTT 10X Career Strategy can yield better companies or better CTC or better positions or all of them.  I hope you now understand the roadmap to build a 10X career in IT Industry. Fresher to IT Professional – Mindset & Skillset Shift

Mindset & Skillset Shift – From Fresher to IT Professional Most college students complete their B.Tech and start looking for internships or jobs. This is where confusion, frustration, and self-doubt begin. The truth is, the gap between a fresher and an IT professional is not just about knowledge—it is about mindset and skillset. Let’s understand this shift in a simple way. A fresher usually introduces themselves like this: “I have completed B.Tech and I am looking for a job.”An IT professional introduces themselves very differently: “I am a Python / MERN / Java / C++ developer.” This is the first mindset shift. Stop defining yourself by your degree. Start defining yourself by your skill. Many students say, “I have done LeetCode in C++, studied Python, and made a MERN project.”But an IT professional says: “I use Python (or any one strong skill) to solve problems, build real projects, and I have proof of my work on GitHub.” This is the second shift. Don’t just learn multiple things. Build depth in one skill and show real work. Another big difference is dependency. Freshers often rely on Google or IDEs even for basic syntax or small problems. An IT professional can confidently write 40–50 basic programs without help in their core language. This is the third shift. Practice so much that your basics become automatic. Now let’s talk about resumes and profiles.Freshers often have different stories on resume, LinkedIn, and job portals. There is no clear identity. An IT professional has one strong story—everything talks about the same skill and direction. This is the fourth shift. Build a consistent personal brand. Then comes the most ignored part—3C: Capability, Communication, Commitment.Freshers are usually average or weak in these.IT professionals are above average. They can do the work (capability), explain it clearly (communication), and stay consistent (commitment). This is the fifth shift. Technical skill alone is not enough. Finally, the biggest difference is action.Freshers wait for jobs. They keep applying and hoping.IT professionals build projects. They start with testing ideas, then create free versions, then improve to freemium, and eventually build something people can pay for. This is the sixth shift. Stop waiting. Start building. Final Thought Becoming an IT professional is not about luck, college, or market conditions. It is about how you position yourself, how deeply you build skills, and how consistently you take action. If you make these shifts—from degree to skill, from learning to doing, from confusion to clarity— you will not just get a job, you will build a strong and long-term career in IT. Proactive Communication – Key Qualities of 10X Engineers [WTT 10X Roadmap]

Proactive Communication Effective communication is a core skill for every professional. Reactive communication happens when a person works on a task but only shares updates when the manager repeatedly follows up. Proactive communication means taking ownership of communication—sharing regular updates on progress, challenges, and next steps without being asked. In the WTT 10X Roadmap, proactive communication is an expected behavior. A 10X Engineer keeps stakeholders informed daily, builds trust, and helps teams move faster by eliminating uncertainty. Proactive Communication – 1 to 5 Scale 5 – Excellent (10X Level) Regularly shares clear, timely updates without any follow-up. Communicates progress, risks, blockers, and next steps proactively. 4 – Very Good Provides frequent updates without being asked. May occasionally miss small details but keeps stakeholders well informed. 3 – Good Shares updates on key milestones or achievements, but not consistently. Sometimes requires light follow-up. 2 – Needs Improvement Rarely provides updates on their own. Communication mostly happens only when asked by the manager. 1 – Poor Does not communicate progress proactively. Requires repeated follow-ups to understand task status.   Author – Vikas Jain (Founder WorldclassTechTalent.com)
